Interesting Fibre Information:

Fibre is measured by the “micron” which is one millionth of a meter. A low number indicates a smaller fiber and softness. For example, cashmere wool obtained from a goat must be under 18.5 microns.

Cashmere is beautiful fibre, however, a high grade of Alpaca fibre is a moderately priced alternative; compare the grades of Alpaca fibre:
  • Grade 1 Royal Baby (RB) below 20 microns
  • Grade 2 Baby (B) 20 - 22.9 microns
  • Grade 3 Super fine (SF) 23.0 -25.9microns
  • Grade 4 Medium (M) 26.0 - 28.9 microns
